Agree with Criticism Directed Toward You ;)

So often we are immobilized by the slightest criticism. We treat it like an emergency, and defend ourselves as if we were in a battle. In truth, however, criticism is nothing more than an observation by another person about us, our actions, or the way we think about something, that doesn't match the vision we have of ourselves. Big deal!
When we react to criticism with a knee-jerk, defensive response, it hurts. We feel attacked, and we have a need to defend or to offer a counter-criticism. We fill our minds with angry or hurtful thoughts directed at ourselves or at the person who is being critical. All this reaction takes an enormous amount of mental energy.

An incredibly useful exercise is to agree with criticism directed toward you. I'm not talking about turning into a doormat or ruining your self-esteem by believing all negativity that comes in your direction. I'm only suggesting that there are many times when simply agreeing with criticism defuses the situation, satisfies a person's need to express a point of view, offers you a chance to learn something about yourself by seeing a grain of truth in another position, and, perhaps the most important, provides you an opportunity to remain calm.

One of the first times I consciously agreed with criticism directed toward me was many years ago when my mum said to me, “Sometimes you talk too much.” I remember feeling momentarily hurt before deciding to agree. I responded by saying “You're right, I do talk too much sometimes.” I discovered something that changed my life. In agreeing with her, I was able to see that she had a good point. I often do talk too much! What's more, my non-defensive helped her to relax. A few minutes later she said, “You know, you're sure easy to talk to.” I doubt she would have said that had I become angry at her observation. I've since learned that reacting to criticism never makes the criticism go away. In fact, negative reactions to criticism often convince the person doing the criticizing that they are accurate in their assessment of you.

Give this strategy a try. I think you'll discover that agreeing with an occasional criticism has more value than it costs.

Be Grateful When You're Feeling Good and Graceful When You're Feeling Bad

The happiest person on earth isn't always happy. In fact, the happiest people all have their fair share of low moods, problems, disappointments, and heartache. Often the difference between a person who is happy and someone who is unhappy isn't how often they get low, or even how low they drop, but instead, it's what they do with their low moods. How do they relate to their unchanging feelings?

Most people have it backward. When they are feeling down, they roll up their sleeves and get to work. They take their low moods very seriously and try to figure out and analyze what's wrong. They try to force themselves out of their low state, which tends to compound the problem rather than solve it.

When you observe peaceful, relaxed people, you find that when they are feeling good, they are very grateful. They understand that both positive and negative feelings come and go, and that there will come a time when they won't be feeling so good. To happy people, this is okay, it's the way of things. They accept the inevitability of passing feelings. So, when they are feeling depressed, angry, or stressed out, they relate to these feelings with the same openness and wisdom. Rather than fight their feelings and panic simply because they are feeling bad, they accept their feelings, knowing that this too, shall pass. Rather than stumbling and fighting against their negative feelings, they are graceful in their acceptance of them. This allows them to come gently and gracefully out of negative feeling states into more positive states of mind.

One of the happiest people I know is someone who also gets quite low from time to time. The difference, it seems, is that he has become quite comfortable with his low moods. It's almost as though he doesn't really care because he knows that, in due time, he will be happy again. To him, it's no big deal.

The next time you're feeling bad, rather than fight it, try to relax. See if, instead of panicking, you can be graceful and calm. Know that if you don't fight your negative feelings, if you are graceful, they will pass away just as surely as the sun sets in the evening.

5 Keys To Success

You’re Running Out of Time – Use It WiselySteve Jobs channels Buddhist monks from all over the world for this piece of advice. We barely ever really think about how little time we have on this planet. That within a blink of an eye everything could be gone.
The Buddha recognized this fact and used it as one of his motivations for enlightenment.
Don’t wait for tomorrow because tomorrow may never come.
Start right now, in this instance, to work on your success.
Dreaming of it. Crafting it. Creating it.
Don’t wait for the kids to go off to college, the stars to align, or until everything is just right.
Don’t Live Someone Else’s Life
If you truly buy into Steve’s first key to success. Or you’ve recently had tea with the Dalai Lama and he swayed you to the dark side of realizing that we all have a fixed amount of time, then why would you waste it living someone else’s life.
You’ve got dreams of your own. They may have been beaten into silence, but you know they’re still there. Waiting patiently for you to remember them. To nurture them. And have the courage to share them with the world.
Break Free From Dogma
According to wikipedia: “Dogma is the established belief or doctrine held by a religion, ideology or any kind of organization: it is authoritative and not to be disputed.”
I don’t mean to come back to Buddha, but he had this to say about Dogma, “Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.”
Is Steve Jobs Buddhist?
He seems to be really channeling him so far.
Have the courage to be yourself.
What are your dreams?
What do you want?
What make YOU happy?
Dive deep into the mystery and miracle of who you are. There’s never going to be another person like you on the face of this planet. EVER.
Think about that for a second. Embrace it. And get on out there and discover who you are.
Ignore Other People’s Opinions
Abraham Maslow said that the happiest people are the ones that are, “Oblivious of the good opinions of others.”
Now I don’t think Mr. Jobs is saying to steer clear of wise council. It’s good to have other people perspective on things. And I’m sure that apple has a lot of geniuses, clairvoyants and witch doctors to help Mr. Jobs divine the future.
But there’s a lot of people out there who will tell you that it can’t be done. Or you’re not the right person for the job. Or some other form of baloney.
Thank them for their concern and keep pressing on with your dreams.
Listen and ask for the opinions of people who have more experience than you. But keep far away from dream stealer’s.
Follow Your Heart
So often we choose to ignore the “still small voice within.” We get that gut feeling. We know something is up.
We hear our dreams calling out to us but for whatever reason we suppress them, ignore them, and shove them down deep inside.
Maybe we’re trying to keep up with Jones’. Maybe we buy into the “get a good job, keep your head down, and work hard” story they sell us in school.
Whatever the reason the truth is when we stuff those dreams away and lock them deep within our hearts we suffer.
Silently we ache. An agony most of us take quietly to our graves.
The only cure is to dream again. To follow our hearts. To go where life is calling you. To run through fields of wide open possibility.
A quote I love and have adapted slightly from Frederick Buechner is, “Success is found through marrying the worlds deep hunger with your hearts deep gladness.”
It’s no wonder that Steve Jobs has been successful.
So what do you want to be successful at?
To your success!

Famous business quotes from Steve Jobs, founder of Apple Inc
1.            “Apple’s market share is bigger than BMW’s or Mercedes or Porsche’s in the automotive market. What’s wrong with being BMW or Mercedes?
2.            “Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren’t used to an environment where excellence is expected.”
3.            “Design is not what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.”
4.            “I think we are having fun. I think our customers really like our products. And we are always trying to do better.”
5.            “Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.”
6.            “I want to put a ding in the universe.”
7.            “It is piracy, not overt online music stores that is our main competitor.”
Famous business quotes from Steve Jobs, founder of Apple Inc
8.            “It took us three years to build the NEXT computer. If we’d given the customer what they said they wanted, we’d have built a computer they’d have been happy with, a year after we spoke to them – not something they’d want now.”
9.            “Pretty much, Apple and Dell are the only ones in this industry making money. They make it by being Wal-Mart, we make it by innovation.”
10.          “Sometimes when you innovate, you make mistakes. It’s best to admit them quickly and get on with improving your other innovations.”
11.          “The people who are doing the work are the moving force behind the Macintosh. My job is to create a space for them, to clear out the rest of the organization and keep it at bay.”
12.          “To turn really interesting ideas and fledging ideas into a company that can continue to innovate for years, it requires a lot of disciplines.”
13.          “Why join the navy if you can be a pirate?
14.          “You can’t just ask the customers what they want and try to give that to them. By the time you get it built, they will want something new.”

“Your time is limited. Don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living the result of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drowned your own inner voice. And, most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.” Steve Jobs

iPhone apps

First time use iPhone to blog. iPhone apps isn't easy, it requires a lots of skill that I can't learn in law. Lol! But I will try my best ok!

Soka Gakkai

What is Soka Gakkai?
This is the common question asked by my friends.
"We are an international Buddhist Society who emphasize on Culture, Peace and Education"
Although I am still quite new on this Buddhism, but I will try my best to learn the myth of the Buddhism and practice it with my full wisdom and potential.

The core element of the Buddhist practice conducted by members of the Soka Gakkai International is chanting the phrase "Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo", or devotion to the Lotus Sutra, which was identified by the 13th-century Japanese priest Nichiren as the key to developing the Buddha nature.
Chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo enables people the unleash their hidden potential and unlock the courage and compassion to transform their lives and create positive value in their family, community and society. Members usually chant to a mandala called a Gohonzon which is enshrined in their homes.
My sister and Aunt had Gohonzon but I don't have any.
I would like to enshrine too after one Million Daimoku with strong faith.
I believe I can do it and release my FULL POTENTIAL!!

Bless

On the 30-31 October 2010, I went to the Soka Gakkai Exchange Meet located in JB cultural centre.
It was a mesmerizing experience!
I enjoyed listening to what a doctor who practice this Buddhism.
I am so lucky to practice the king of the Buddhism.
Believe it or not!
Everyone have many eyes. I don't want to see thing with 肉眼,instead watching everything with my 法眼 和 佛眼 with my total wisdom.
It is how Chanting can release your total wisdom and buddhahood.

Good Friends ^^

We practiced dancing and read up material.
Fortunately everything went smoothly!
I am so surprise to see many members, challenge successfully in their sickness, academic, health, career from 0 to 100.
I had total shock when I saw one of my friend-a bad student who always fight, betting, fail all his subject to a student who score CGPA 3.9 in university!
Oh my god I cant believe!! @@
Everyone have hidden talents! Believe yourself! You can really do it with confident!!

Short term plan as a student-Challenge to waive my PTPTN, to teach my friends!
